Rationale: It is every designer’s dream to create amazing design ideas that make the world stand at an awe. Designers are always searching to come up with one of a kind, fresh designs that will gain them recognition, fame and a name in the industry.
Creativity is a generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations of the creative mind between existing ideas or concepts. Creativity is fuelled by the process of either conscious or unconscious insight. It is simply the act of making something new. Some say it is a trait we are born with; others say it can be taught with the application of simple techniques. Why don’t you show us?
Originality is the aspect of created or invented works by as being new or novel, and thus can be distinguished from reproductions, clones, forgeries, or derivative works. An original work is one that is nothing like the others. As a compliment to the creativity of the designer, the original piece has to be something not seen before.
‘Creativity’ and ‘Originality’ is the main key in being a well sought after designer in the business. This is when cool designs are born. Cool designs become trends in art, architecture, home, fashion, transportation and more. The world is opening up to things that are even weird and unusual.
A designer’s creativity pool is a work station of future innovation and tomorrow’s most (in) famous inventions. As we jet set the theme into competition, let your ideas be cool enough to win the IIDA 2009! In other words, be limitless, be imaginative, and be daring!

1) Residential – apartment, villas, penthouse, semi-D, bungalow, terrace house
2) Retails – shops, retail outlets, showrooms, office spaces.

4) Office & public institution – all types of work related space such as bank, offices and etc.
*Submit no less than 6 areas of the completed project and 8 photographs, including layout/ 2D plan.

- Awarded to the best color coordination, setting and effect of the entire interior environment.
6) Best Lighting Award by Alfo Lighting
- Awarded to the best lighting coordination, setting and effect of the entire interior environment.
7) Best 3D Award by YFCAD
- Awarded to the best computer generated drawing by InteriCAD software.
* Special award categories will be selected from entries/ project submitted for award categories 1-4.

As the award gains attraction following its fourth year, we want to make sure those who participate will receive more recognition, not only from the comrades in the industry, but also the public who, we hope would recognize them by engaging their services. To further ensure this will happen, we add the “Top 10 most promising young designer talents” to the series of accolades we will hand out in year 2009. From the participating entries, we will select 5 male and female designers to make up the top 10.
